The month of November saw a slight increase in the number of those unemployed in Mississippi.
This, according to the Mississippi Department of Employment Security’s latest numbers just released.
Mississippi’s unemployment rate in November of 2019, was 5.6 percent, a slight increase of one-tenth of a percentage point from unemployment numbers in the previous month of october.
However, the state’s unemployment rate, overall, is down from the past year, with the number of jobs in our state increasing by 7,600 from November of 2018 to November 2019.
December’s unemployment rate is expected to drop with holiday and seasonal hiring.
