One area football team celebrated the grand opening of one of their new facilities.
Members of the St. Martin High School football team, coaches, and officials from the Jackson County School District cut the ribbon on the team’s new football field house next to their stadium.
The new facility took just under a year to build and features a spacious weight room and locker room as well as a conference room and offices for coaches.
Jackson County Superintended Dr. Barry Amacker says the facility is a benefit to student athletes and the community. “Where it’s positioned, the people from the home stands can look over and see this beautiful facility. I’m sure it will conjure up a lot of pride in the St. Martin Yellowjacket program.”
Funding for the facility came primarily from the school district along with contributions from the community and fundraisers.
