A unique holiday tradition in Long Beach is back again on Saturday for the ‘Sea Santa Sail-a-Bration.”
This is a waterless boat parade the whole family can enjoy. All kinds of boats will be paraded down Jeff Davis Avenue and dock at the town green to end.
After they dock there will be a full Christmas celebration with Santa, face painting, a live snow globe, hot chocolate, and number of choirs for your favorite Christmas carols. The parade begins at 5:45 p.m. Saturday. Jenny Levens with the City of Long Beach said, “We have boaters from all over. They decorate and they have themes and they decorate their boats and it is just a waterless boat parade. So, it is a fun night, very inexpensive for a family to come out and enjoy the Christmas festivities and take pictures with Santa.”
The city is also collecting bikes for the mayor’s youth council bike drive for needy children in the community. If you would like to donate you can drop the bikes off at City Hall, Long Beach Police Department, or any of the three fire departments.
You can donate until December 13th.
