There is plenty of sunshine across the Gulf Coast this afternoon as temperatures warm up to the upper 60s. Some areas may even hit the 70 degree mark before the end of the day.
Moisture will increase as flow off the Gulf of Mexico brings in warm, damp air. Clouds have already started to filter into the region ahead of an approaching low pressure system. This low pressure system is associated with a weak cold front and will likely bring some showers to South Mississippi on Friday.
While we are not anticipating a washout, scattered showers will be possible throughout the day, especially in the afternoon and evening. Some areas may even experience a few thunderstorms.
Rain will clear out, but cloudy skies will stick around for most of Saturday as temperatures stay mild.
There is a small chance of rain daily Monday through Thursday next week.
