7:30 a.m. Update:
All lanes on Interstate 10 are back open and the incident has been cleared, according to the Mississippi Department of Transportation. However, traffic is still running slower than normal.
We are still working to get more information regarding the police chase.
ORIGINAL STORY (6:45 a.m.):
All westbound lanes on Interstate 10 are closed near mile marker 29 following a police chase that started earlier this morning.
The closure is just west of Canal Road at Exit 31.
The Mississippi Department of Transportation says the traffic impact is “high” and that the “public is advised to take alternate route.”
