A Gulfport man is facing several charges including one felony after a high-speed chase this morning.
According to Sheriff Troy Peterson, 44-year-old Charles Gill is being charged with driving under the influence, failure to stop, reckless driving, resisting arrest, and a felony charge of possession with intent to distribute.
Officials say they were investigating a suspicious vehicle on Steeplechase Drive. Police tried to talk to Gill, who sped away and led police down Highway 49 onto I-10.
Gill eventually came to a stop at mile marker 29 where Gulfport Police deployed spike strips disabling his car.
Upon investigation, officials found more than 20 grams of cocaine.
Gill was placed under arrest and transported to the Harrison County Jail after being treated for minor injuries.
