Freezing cold temperatures will last through the middle of Tuesday morning and some patchy frost is being reported across South Mississippi.
Temperatures will warm up gradually under mostly sunny skies. Eventually, highs will top out in the mid to upper 50s.
Very nice conditions will last until early Friday when the next cold front will begin to affect the area. The Friday front will not be bringing any freezing temps with it but the next cold front that moves through next Tuesday will definitely cool things down. Some lift provided by the polar jet could keep the clouds and light rain in the area through Tuesday night.
This first punch of cool air on Tuesday is not expected to get to freezing but it will feel cold with cloudy skies, light rain and temps in the 40s and 50s. The secondary punch that moves in next Wednesday night may be capable of producing some freezing conditions once again.
