After a freezing cold start to the day, temperatures are slowly but surely making their way into the mid 50s across South Mississippi. Although mild, it is still about 10 degrees lower than our normal high temperature for this time of the year.
Another chilly night is ahead, but it won’t be as cold. Lows will be near 40 along the coast, and in the upper 30s for inland areas (mainly north of Interstate 10).
On Wednesday, a few more clouds will filter into the region and temperatures will rebound, warming up to the mid 60s by the afternoon.
Gradual warming will continue through the end of the work week. Our next chance for rain will be on Friday ahead of a weak cold front. Right now, it looks like only light to moderate rain is expected then, with the chance for strong storms being very low.
