Local homeowners put their homes on display Sunday for a holiday tradition that’s over 50 years strong.
The Gulfport Civic League’s 58th annual ‘Christmas Tour of Homes’ featured four homes with unique Christmas decorations and other items on the island between the two bridges on Cowan-Lorraine Road, along with a tea house at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church that housed a silent auction and raffle.
All proceeds from the tour go to benefit children and adults with special needs in the community. ‘Christmas Tour of Homes’ Co-Chair Cissy Pedigo said, “We use our funds for scholarships for students who are going into fields that will benefit children and adults with handicaps or special needs. We put on like Buddy Ball, we’re part of that, and the Special Olympics.”
The tour is the Civic League’s only fundraiser each year.
