It started with a local business man looking to help a family in need around the holidays, now it has become a community effort.
The 11th annual ‘Visions of Sugar Plums’ shopping event was held today at the Pascagoula Walmart. This is a partnership between Steve Jordan, owner of Turf Masters Inc., and the City of Pascagoula.
Thirty children were given the chance to buy for themselves and family members ahead of the holidays with the help of chaperones from the city.
The real goal for the children is to learn about the true meaning of Christmas and the season of giving. Jordan said, “Our company has been blessed. If we can bring a smile to some of these kids’ faces at Christmas time and at the same time let them experience the joy of giving, it is quite amazing. It gives us a great feeling to experience this year after year.”
