The D’Iberville baseball program is sending one of its own to the next level.
This morning, senior pitcher Colby Tubre signed a national letter of intent to continue his career on the diamond with Jones College who’s just three years removed from winning the NJCAA Division II World Series.
And as the ace of the Warriors staff, the left-handed hurler is ready to bring his four pitch mix to Ellisville and join the winning ways of the Bobcats. Tubre said, “It’s just great knowing you’re going to be a part of something that they’ve got the same idea as I do about baseball, wanting to win. And they do win. And I just want to be around a group of people who have the same ambitions as me.”
D’Iberville Head Baseball Coach Cragin Gilbert said, “The fight, the bulldog mentality that he can get anybody out that has a bat in their hand. So it’s a great thing that we have a guy that’s as talented as Colby, and we look forward for a great season.”
Tubre says putting pen to paper in front of his grandfather was the most special part about today’s ceremony.
