The City of D’Iberville has approved a multi-million bond to help complete their new police station.
The $5 million bond was approved at tonight’s City Council meeting. The new and improved station is already under construction on Lamey Bridge Road.
D’Iberville City Manager Clay Jones tell News 25 that the current police station is outdated and a larger and updated police station is a must for D’Iberville police. “We’re in about 4,000 square feet now and we have over 40 officers. So, if you do the math that’s really unhealthy for the officers. That building that they’re in now was never made for a police department. This building’s going to be state of the art, made for police, and a highly functional state of the art facility.”
