A Perkinston man is behind bars facing several charges including home invasion for an incident in Hurley tonight.
According to Jackson County Sheriff Mike Ezell, 29-year-old Rusty Bond held up a woman at her home then took her keys and money before fleeing in her car southbound on Highway 63.
Mississippi Highway Patrol initiated a chase that proceeded across Wade-Vancleave Road where Jackson County deputies joined the pursuit.
Bond led authorities to Highway 57 and onto I-10 westbound. Once Bond reached the Ocean Springs exit, he reportedly jumped out of the car near the Ramada Limited Motel and deputies were able to take him into custody.
The sheriff’s department is charging Bond with home invasion and motor vehicle theft.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol is expected to add its own charges against Bond.
