11/12 – Rob’s “Cold and Blustery” Tuesday Morning Forecast

As a major cold front pushed through the area, winds will continue to be out of the north at 20-25 miles per hour (mph) with higher gusts of 35 to 40 mph possible. A Wind Advisory has been issued for the entire News 25 viewing area.

Periods with these higher winds are likely to continue through at least mid-afternoon for most areas. Closer to the coast, some stronger winds are likely to occur into this evening as well for areas south of I-10.

This morning will also bring isolated light rain to South Mississippi. Moisture will depart the area by mid/late morning, but cloud coverage will likely continue. Clear will being early/mid-afternoon as clear skies should begin to dominate late afternoon/evening. A VERY COLD air mass will continue to move in overnight as a Freeze Warning or Hard Freeze Warning is in effect for the viewing area.

Rebounding temperatures will begin tomorrow as a Gulf low is expected to develop along the Western Gulf of Mexico and track northeast. This will bring warmer temperatures to the area Wednesday with light rainfall back by Thursday.
