Both candidates in the Senate District 50 race are preparing for their second race in nearly three months.
A Harrison County Circuit judge reordered the special election to be held tomorrow for Dixie Newman and Scott Delano. After an inspection of the results, it was discovered there were irregularities in the election.
Both candidates tell News 25 that they’re happy to finally get a result after an irregularly long process. Newman said, “We’re ready for the answer to just come and everyone to be in the know of what this is at this point because I think everyone is tired as well of hearing about District 50 at this point. It’s like a love-hate relationship at this point, you know.”
Delano said, “This is has been a long 11 months for everyone involved in these campaigns and we’re just glad to see us push it across the goal-line, hoping we come out number one and we’re able to go back and represent South Mississippi in Senate District 50.”
