It might not like seem like it, but the holiday season is almost here. The City of Gulfport is getting ready for their big event.
If you drive past Jones Park, you’ll notice that crews are hard at work setting up for the annual ‘Gulfport Harbor Lights Winter Festival.’
Officials with the City of Gulfport tell News 25 that it takes months to get everything set up for the festival.
This year’s festival will have over one and a half million lights, new music, and new animations. LaShaundra McCarty with the City of Gulfport said, “There will be entertainment. There will also be a Santa’s Village and you can bring your little ones or big ones out and they can make s’mores. There will also be a chance to ride a trolley through if you decide you don’t want to walk. There will be an additional large ornament and an extra 80 foot tunnel for people to walk through, so there have been some additions made this year.”
Tickets for the Gulfport Harbor Lights Winter Festival are on sale now. You can visit Harbor Lights Facebook page for more information. The festival opens to the public on November 29th.
