A candidate in another statewide race wants to get his name and platform out there.
David Singletary is running as an independent in the November 5th race for governor and was one of the candidates running for governor who took to the podium to speak at the Neshoba County Fair back on August 1st before Mississippi’s primaries.
While current attorney general Jim Hood took the democratic gubernatorial nominate for governor and lieutenant governor Tate Reeves won the republican nomination in the runoff, David Singletary will be on the November 5th ballot running as an independent.
Singletary plans to hold a press conference at 5 pm on October 10th in front of the Thad Cochran Center at USM’s Hattiesburg campus two hours before the two mainstream candidates, Jim Hood and Tate Reeves, square off in a televised debate.
As he stated at the Neshoba County Fair, Singletary wants to legalize cannabis both on the medical and recreational side, and to enforce term limits—just two pitches he plans to share at the press conference October 10th.
We’ll keep you posted.
