Students are furthering their education as auto techs as the Harrison County Career and Technical Center took a tour of Butch Oustalet Ford in Gulfport.
Students went behind the scenes of the automotive industry and learned more about a potential paid internship with the company. Students from Harrison Central, West Harrison, and D’Iberville High can receive online training by the CTC.
Harrison Central senior Andrew Detwiler works part time as an intern at the dealership. He recommends the internship to anyone pursuing a career in this field.
“There’s so much you can learn. So much is given to you and this is one of the best places to work. It’s a very family like environment here. If you are coming up in this line of work and you get the chance to get an internship, I would definitely take it.”
Butch Oustalet has hired two Harrison County students over the years as interns. Harrison County is the only school district participating in this internship program.
