People from all over the country will be moving and grooving on the Coast this weekend for the 10th annual Mississippi Songwriters Festival.
The festival will feature over 100 national and regional songwriters at 13 venues in downtown Ocean Springs, one venue in Gautier, one in Moss Point and at the Margaritaville in Biloxi.
This event is a great way for local, regional, and national songwriters to get their songs heard by thousands of people.
Mississippi Songwriters Festival Board of Directors member Reggie Bates said, “It draws people in. They are going to eat in restaurants. They are going to drink in bars. They are going to stay in hotels. They are going to come and see the city and want to come back. They’ll shop at all of the gift shops and see all of the different things that are offered to them here in the city and they will be able to see what Ocean Springs is all about and surrounding areas as well.”
Festival organizers say 6,000 to 8,000 people are expected to attend the four-day event.
The free festival starts this Thursday and it will run until Sunday the 22nd. For more information on lineups and schedules visit mssongwritersfestival.com.
