Our very own Taylor Rubach described this afternoon as “oven-like” which certainly seems appropriate given today’s temperature increase. The high climbed to 94 degrees today and sadly will linger in the mid 90s for another day.
EXPECT HEAT INDICES IN THE 105-110 DEGREE RANGE FOR TOMORROW, BUT IT QUICKLY COOLS INTO THE 80S BY FRIDAY.
Don’t get too excited though as it only falls into the mid 80s at the coolest. The real star of the forecast will be the drier air. Dew points will fall from the low 70s into the upper 60s, which will make a big difference in afternoon heat indices.
THESE DRIER, COOLER CONDITIONS CARRY ON THROUGH THE WEEKEND, BUT WILL GRADUALLY MODERATE BY THE BEGINNING OF NEXT WEEK.
Monday ironically is the first day of Fall, but it won’t bring any cooler weather since highs return to the 90s by then.
