Are you or someone you know fearful of the water? Well, you may have a chance to overcome that fear with a new type of water session at the Biloxi Natatorium.
These sessions are for anyone 18 and over to help adults get acclimated to the water. They are free and open to the public.
These sessions are different from swim lessons in that it’s more about your mental state in the water and what to expect.
The natatorium decided to have these sessions with recent drownings in mind to help keep the community safe. City of Biloxi Recreation Superintendent Jamie Lee said, “We’re just trying to make a difference in the community. I mean, you look at the area we live in, I mean we are surrounded by water. We are just trying to get people to be aware, understand what’s going on, and understand the dangers about the water, but also to teach them and try to help them become safe in the water.”
There will be a session this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. All you have to do to register is call the natatorium at 228-435-6205 to reserve your spot.
