For the third time in five years, the Biloxi Shuckers have the distinction of being Southern League South Division Champions without the distinction of being Southern League Champions.
Yesterday, the Shuckers came up just short to the Jackson Generals in a winner-take-all game five. The Shuckers took an early lead, but were unable to overcome a five run frame by the Generals in a 6-2 season ending loss.
Albeit disappointing, the Shuckers can hold their heads high on the back of four straight half division titles and a new single season franchise record of 82 wins.
Biloxi also set a new club record with a pair of ten game winning streaks to go along with the excitement of hosting the Southern League All-Star Game for the first time.
