Power restored in Downtown Biloxi

Multiple businesses and street lights lost power for over an hour this morning in downtown Biloxi.

Howard Avenue from Reynoir to Caillavet Street was shut down and Biloxi police were directing traffic. A squirrel was messing with multiple fuses near the parking garage on Howard caused this power outage.

Merit Health Hospital also lost power and had to work off of their emergency generators. They also had to postpone multiple morning surgeries.

Mississippi Power was on scene to work out the problems and eventually got the power and street lights back up and running.
