Quick response by Harrison County firefighters is being credited with saving a home in north Harrison County from major damage.
Crews with Harrison County Fire Rescue and Lizana Fire responded to a fire alarm going off at a house on Tenth Street off Canal Road on Sunday afternoon.
When they arrived on the scene, they found smoke coming from the two-story brick house. No one was in the home at the time.
After making their way into the home, firefighters found one room on fire and were able to extinguish the fire in less than 10 minutes, saving the home from major damage and destruction. No injuries were reported.
According to the initial investigation, it appears a short in a battery charger caused the fire.
