The term “arid” means hot and dry which may be a bit of a stretch in South MS with our humidity, but it wasn’t too far off the mark this week. This drier trend continues through the weekend in terms of rain, but the humidity will begin inching upward.
THAT MEANS WHILE THE AIR TEMPERATURE ACTUALLY FALLS SOME FROM WHERE IT HAS BEEN, IT WILL STILL “FEEL” JUST AS HOT OR EVEN HOTTER, NEAR 105 ON THE COASTLINE.
The humidity keeps rising into Sunday, when the chance of an afternoon shower or two returns. By Monday the strong high in the Southeast will have moved east, which will bring back much more “average” conditions. Expect a return to afternoon highs in the low 90s with a chance of afternoon showers all next week with muggy nights in the mid 70s.
