Shovels were in the dirt today at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College today as they broke ground on a new facility.
A new Early Childhood Education Center is being built on the college’s Perkinston campus. Full-time students with children ranging in age from one to five will be able to use the facility and students studying early childhood education will study at the facility as part of their course work.
The building will feature two playgrounds, four classrooms for kids, and an instructional classroom for college students. MGCCC President Dr. Mary Graham said, “We’ve tried to pull in all the features that are desirable for students and small children, things that would be appealing to them, colors, bright colors. It’s going to be a really great learning environment.”
The building is scheduled to be completed sometime in the fall of 2020.
