The Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum in Biloxi is now accepting nominations for the Heritage Hall of Fame Class of 2019.
The Heritage Hall of Fame was established to recognize the individual contributions to the Maritime and Seafood Industry here on the Coast. The Hall of Fame can be found on the second floor of the museum, featuring interactive exhibits and learning material.
Fifteen members will be chosen for this year’s class. Outreach Program Coordinator Corey Christy tells News 25 that they’re excited to shine a light on the people who made Biloxi what it is today. “The people come up and they don’t know what happened before them, even people’s families coming here, and they see a picture of their grandfather or they’ll see a picture of somebody and recognize them. It’s a way to keep that tradition alive and people come in and have a way to honor their families and also honor what we were built on here on the Coast.”
The deadline for applications is August 30th and can be submitted online at maritimemuseum.org or at the museum.
