Here’s some good news for parents who want to give their kids a head start in education.
Mississippi State University’s Extension Service has plans under way to help ease the transition to school for families with young children through a new head start program on the Gulf Coast.
The program is designed to help youngsters transition from early care and education settings to kindergarten.
The new centers to be served include Gilbert Mason, Harry Tartt, Linda Lyons, Central Elementary, and Gorenflo Elementary School.
A parent meeting is scheduled for August 19th from 6 to 9 pm at the Coastal Research and Extension Center on Popp’s Ferry Road in Biloxi.
A job fair is set at the same location for August 20th, 21st and 22nd from 6 to 9 pm each night.
