One festival honoring the oyster industry is headed back to Biloxi this year.
The Gulf Coast Oyster Cook-off and Festival is headed back to Biloxi on November 9th after being held in Gulfport last year.
A press conference was held today at the Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum to kick off preparation for the event which is entering its fourth year.
This year’s cook-off and festival will honor the 100th year of Balius Welding and Iron Works and its founder Noel Balius Sr.
An amateur cook-off category is the newest feature to the festival. Glenn Mattina Jr. with Clear Vision Entertainment said, “Come down, celebrate with us, have a good time, enjoy some music, and let’s celebrate our restaurants. They’ve had to work very hard this summer to get through it.”
The festival will be held on the Biloxi Town Green.
