Cruisin’ the Coast has been named the second best car show in America by ‘USA Today.’
Our own Coast staple came just shy of that first place prize, unlike last year when it was named first.
With this new title on their minds, Cruisin’ and city officials in Ocean Springs met to discuss plans. This was their first major meeting to make sure everything is laid out and ready to go for Cruisin’.
They are hoping for 9,000 visitors in their city for this year’s festivities.
One of the most popular events for Cruisin’ every year is the ‘sock hop’ which will take place on Friday, October 11th. Ocean Springs Mayor Shea Dobson said, “Cruisin’ The Coast is a really big deal in Ocean Springs. It is a really big festival and so it takes months and months of planning. I think that Ocean Springs provides a little bit of a quaint experience. Washington and Government are really second to none, especially having the cars all parked down and being able to go walk down the street.”
Classic cars will be taking the streets of South Mississippi for Cruisin’ the Coast from October 6th through the 13th.
