Many people are mourning the loss of former Gulfport High football player Zae Crain, but his mother has been hit with tragedy twice within a few days. Zae’s mother, Latoya, lost her son and her brother within the same week.
Now, Salute, the restaurant where Zae and Latoya both worked, has created a fundraiser to help the family during this extremely difficult time.
Restaurant owner Rob Stinson says that he hopes the fundraiser will be able to cover funeral costs for Zae. He also wants Latoya to be able to have money during the time she will need to take off of work and he wants to pay for her counseling.
Rob says Zae was a person he will never forget. “Zae was one of the characters you would meet and never forget, always in a good mood, always kidding around, jovial. They tell me he was the same way on the football field. He was a team player.”
