One of the candidates running to take the state’s top political spot as governor is on the Coast. Bill Waller Jr. is raising awareness about the negative impact the Bonnet Carre Spillway opening is having on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Republican candidate Waller has been traveling a lot lately, campaigning in his bid for Mississippi governor. Just a few days ago, he stopped by the Bonnet Carre Spillway in Southeast Louisiana to get a first-hand look and bring attention to the devastating effects the spillway’s opening is having on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and Sound.
This marks the 90th day of the second opening of the spillway this year. Later Tuesday, Waller, former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Mississippi, will be in Gulfport. He’ll be speaking to the Gulfport Business Club at noon at the Great Southern Club.
