There are plenty of development opportunities in downtown Biloxi. How can you start? Well, the business community had the opportunity today at a downtown development forum to learn how to do just that.
More than a dozen vendors were on hand, including bankers, realtors, downtown business owners, City of Biloxi community development officials, the city’s main street group, and members of the Biloxi Chamber of Commerce. The free forum started at 8 a.m. and included multiple speakers and a free breakfast.
One take away the city hoped for was for attendees to see the opportunities available for development in the downtown area of the city. There was even a slideshow for the forum participants that showed empty lots and vacant buildings for their prospective developments.
Those already developing say now is the perfect time. Developer Kim Fritz said, “I think it is a great opportunity to get in on the ground floor. Those types of incentives don’t happen once a place is already busy and they don’t necessarily need to incent the business so now is the time to do it if you are interested.”
