Depression and post-traumatic stress disorder have become the most common mental health problems for military veterans.
The Biloxi Vet Center held their open house today to promote their services to the community. The Vet Center fights against PTSD and other disorders by offering combat veterans counseling.
The Vet Center also makes their counseling available to the families of combat veterans, hoping to assist them in their times of need. Veterans Outreach Program Specialist Henry McNeal said, “We get the veteran in, the veteran can bring his wife in, we can educate her or whoever about what the symptoms are, what kind of problems they may be going through so then that eliminates a lot of home issues.”
