Fortunately, we have good news to report this Friday morning, a follow up to the story we’ve been following about JoJo, the juvenile kangaroo who went missing Wednesday after the stormy weather in Gulfport scared him into hopping off during an event he and his owner, Cody Breland, were attending at Pass Road Elementary School.
The swift-footed, one-year-old male kangaroo has been reunited with his owner. This, after an all-out search in Gulfport on Wednesday and Thursday after News 25 aired viewer footage of the kangaroo as he was on the bounce. One area of concentration during the search – Washington Avenue and Monet Street near the Blowfly Inn in Gulfport yesterday. JoJo was found and rounded up late Thursday night, and today he is back in the arms of his thankful owner.
You probably recognize JoJo and Breland from past segments we’ve done with the two here in our WXXV News 25 studio, so this was a case close to our hearts, too.
Anyone who wants to meet JoJo will have the opportunity on Saturday, June 15 at the Blow Fly Inn, according to our media partners the Sun Herald. Breland is bringing the kangaroo back for a meet and greet starting at 11 a.m. at the restaurant.
