The U.S. Senate has approved a resolution introduced by U.S. Republican Senators Roger Wicker, and Cindy Hyde-Smith, to honor the life and career of former long-time U.S. Senator Thad Cochran.
The resolution was co-sponsored by every member of the senate and was approved unanimously. The five page resolution details the accomplishments made by Senator Cochran throughout his life, including his days as an Eagle Scout and student athlete, all the way to his earned title of “The Quiet Persuader,” and recognition as the tenth-longest serving senator in U.S. history. Cochran, who retired from the senate last year, passed away on May 30th.
