The Harrison County School District gets a big surprise!
Mississippi Gulf Coast resident Mr. Darrell Saucier passed away in April and chose the Harrison County School District to be the beneficiary of his life savings. That’s a total of more than $642,000.
The school district is still thinking about how it will spend the donation money, but Public Relations Representative Trang Pham-Bui says most of all the district wants to extend their deepest gratitude to the Saucier family. “We are wanting to make sure we honor Mr. Saucier’s legacy and we want to make sure the children of the Harrison County School District benefit from this. We definitely want to also thank Mr. Saucier’s family and send our hearts and prayers out to them and thank them for their generosity as well.”
This is the largest donation in the district’s 63 years.
