We’ve seen our fair share of flooding here recently on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Now Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant and MEMA’s Executive Director Greg Michel are setting the stage for a press conference this afternoon for a briefing on flood conditions, river levels, and relief efforts in Issaquena, Sharkey, Warren, and Yazoo Counties in the central part of our state.
They’ll address backwater flooding and give an update on Mississippi River levels, which can all eventually impact our region because the Mississippi River travels south, feeding into the Gulf of Mexico.
The press conference is set to take place at 4 PM at the state’s emergency operations center in Pearl, Mississippi, right outside our state’s capital.
We’ll keep you posted.
