The Coast Coliseum in Biloxi was painted orange and blue tonight as the Gulfport High School Class of 2019 received their diplomas.
Three hundred and sixty-six students graduated tonight with more than 200 of those students graduating with distinction.
Many of the students waved to loved ones in the crowd and showed their excitement for this next chapter in their lives.
News 25 spoke with multiple students of the class of 2019 and they say they will miss their time at GHS, but they are ready for their future. Valedictorian Karen Wong said, “I’ll miss the close-knit community that we have. The teachers, counselors, and administrators, they have all formed this big huge circle helping us.”
Graduate Davion Tate said, “I am feeling mixed emotions. I am happy, but then kind of sad because high school has been a great part of my life, but I am very excited for my next step.”
There will be graduations held at the Coast Coliseum every day until next Tuesday from high schools all over the Gulf Coast.
