Less than a month ago, former St. Stanislaus Head Basketball Coach Jay Ladner took over the reins at Southern Miss. This morning, his son joined him in the college ranks, just not at the same school.
Luke Ladner has signed a national letter of intent with Loyola University, having just wrapped up his final year at St. Stanislaus.
The senior captain led the Rock-a-Chaws to the second round of the playoffs as well as a spot in the Region 8 Class 4A district championship game.
This season, Ladner averaged more than 11 points, four rebounds, and three assists per contest, starting all 29 games for the Rock-a-Chaws.
Coach Ladner tells News 25 “I’m beyond excited about his acceptance to an outstanding university and basketball program as Loyola, but I’m most proud of his character and the young man he’s become.”
