Mississippi’s gubernatorial race is heating up and many candidates are making their way down to the Gulf Coast.
Today, former Supreme Court Chief Justice Bill Waller Jr. spent some time on the Coast at the Great Southern Club in Gulfport. Waller is running for governor in the Republican primary.
Waller says he is most concerned with making sure all Mississippians have access to health care, taking care of roads and bridges and education.
Waller also said if elected, he wants to ensure that the BP oil spill money goes to the Coast. “I would like to see the Coast decide the distribution of money and the issues. I want to embolden the Coast. I want to give them more authority in the governing process issues that affect them.”
Waller also says he wants to focus on bringing more tourists to the Gulf Coast.
