Vancleave High School commencement ceremony


‘Always remember your worth’ those are words that echoed throughout the Mississippi Coast Coliseum tonight as Vancleave High School seniors were eager for their diplomas.

Tonight, 165 Bulldogs walked across the stage to receive their ticket out of high school. Combined in the class of 2019, in excess of $6.6 million in scholarships were offered. For the past three years, the graduation rate has gone up 90 percent!

2019 Graduate Reiny Williams tells News 25 she’s proud of her classmates and all their accomplishments and is ready to take the next step in the big world and pursue a degree in special education counseling.”I recently had someone that passed away that was close to me who was special education. It just stuck with me and I’ve always had the patience for them and I love interacting with kids. So, something that stuck with me and it’s real close to my heart.”

Williams plans to enroll this year at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg.

Born as a Georgia peach, raised as a southern belle in Louisiana, Taylor Rubach wouldn't think twice of moving away from where her heart belongs—in the south. Taylor was raised in Slidell, La and is a proud alum of Southeastern Louisiana University. During her time at Southeastern, Taylor was a part of the award winning college television shows, Northshore News and The Big Game. As an anchor and reporter, she was able to combine her love for sports, outdoor activities, and being social. She received a Videographer Award for her work: Second Place Award of Distinction Episode for The Big Game sports show. Taylor was also involved in Southeastern's athletics as diamond girl for the baseball team. She began her career as a Multimedia Journalist at KLAX in Alexandria, Louisiana.
