The Humane Society of South Mississippi gave back to the animals of the community and the people who love them.
HSSM offered a free wellness clinic at the Gaston Point Community Center today. They offered a free wellness exam for pets.
They gave vaccinations, micro-chipping, and free spay and neuter vouchers. This was all thanks to a grant the Humane Society received to give back to the community. Katie King with HSSM said, “So, people love their pets and we know that, but often times they don’t have the resources that they need to take care of their pets. That is where we step in and when we get these grants it gives us the opportunity to give back to the community and give them the resources they need.”
If you missed out today, the shelter says they will be hosting many more of these events throughout the year.
