Head Coach Neil Frederic was quick to call paramedics to the scene and thankfully Howell appears to have been taken to the hospital in stable condition.

The game against Biloxi was called in the second inning.

An emotional scene took place at the pitcher’s mound more than half an hour after the initial incident. Both teams were on a knee the entire time and in those moments baseball came second.

In the video above, you can see both teams leaning on each other to stay strong as the Red Rebels continue to pray for their brother and his speedy recovery.

Harrison Central and Biloxi capped things off with a prayer and an amen.

As for the game itself, coaches say they’re not sure what they’re going to do with the outcome yet.

Coming in, the Indians had the chance to become the first region 8 team to ever run the table in district play since the inception of class 6A in 2010.
