4/7 – Payton’s Sunday Night Forecast

A line of thunderstorms continue to make their way into South Mississippi. As of 10 PM the line has shown signs of weakening. We still could see a few areas of high winds and small hail, but the thunderstorms should stay below severe weather criteria. We watch the heaviest rain move out of the area after midnight, but a few light showers will persist through the overnight hours. Monday will bring another round of heavy rain with a few t-storms possible late morning into the early afternoon. The main threat with these will be gusty winds. By Tuesday the main storm system clears off to the east and we begin our drying trend. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday look nicer with sunshine and warm temperatures. By Friday moisture returns ahead of another front. Rain chances will be back for Friday and Saturday. Sunday we will have to watch the chance for heavy rain and maybe severe weather. It’s still too early to know for sure, but something to monitor.
