A group of developers are looking to breathe new life into the site of an old casino.
It’s been vacant since 2014, but now the Margaritaville Casino site could become Biloxi’s ninth casino.
Developers have filed an application with the Mississippi Gaming Commission to build an expanded casino resort under the name Biloxi House LLC at the old Margaritaville site in Biloxi.
Officials say this nearly $200 million resort will look nothing like the original 68,000 square foot building. It will have 300 rooms, an infinity pool, and lots of wood, steel, and warm earth tones.
Once officials get the go-ahead with the gaming commission, they say the new casino-resort could be open by 2020.
