Inspiring our children to believe, achieve, and succeed is the goal for another NAACP Black History Month program taking place on Friday at the Good Deeds Community Center.
This year, Chairperson Yolanda Wallace wants to focus on the youth as the program features our children on the Gulf Coast. The event will showcase dance groups and singers from different churches. There’s also a special guest set to appear for entertainment.
This free family-friendly event will even serve dinner with the intentions of bringing the community together to learn and celebrate African-American history. “We want the world and the Gulf Coast to know we do have children that are not on the streets, that’s not involved in gangs and drugs, that are doing well in school and represented our community. So, on Friday night, come out and see our children.”
