Ocean Springs Mayor Shea Dobson was on hand Saturday to help support the legalization of medical marijuana in Mississippi.
Joined by the Mississippians for Compassionate Care, Mayor Dobson spent his Saturday talking with locals about the benefits of medical marijuana. Mississippi is one of 17 states in the country that has yet to approve medical marijuana.
Dobson tells News 25 he is confident that if a medical marijuana bill makes it on the docket in 2020 it will pass with flying colors. “You know I think that everybody understands that this is a medical issue that could really help those in need such as veterans with PTSD, those who suffer from seizures, cancer patients. There a lot of different ways that this can help a lot of people from a lot of different backgrounds.”
“You know that 33 different states and the District of Columbia have legalized in marijuana. We’re at the tail-end of this program. It’s accepted. It’s safe. It’s really the right step to go.”
