The City of Biloxi does not look a day over 319, but Wednesday the city will celebrate turning 320.
City officials are planning a birthday bash to ring in the special occasion. On Wednesday, the festivities will start at 3 p.m. with a re-enactment of the 1699 landing of Pierre Le Moyne d’Iberville on the beach front south of the Biloxi Lighthouse.
At 3:20, there will be a birthday party at the Biloxi Visitors Center with free cupcakes and a commemorative gift for the first 320 guests and to finish off the day a block party will take place in downtown Biloxi. “At 5:30 we are going to continue with a block party at the Biloxi Brewing Company which is on Bone Street in downtown Biloxi. There’s going to be free food. There’s going to be entertainment and all of these activities are free. We just want the public to come out and celebrate the colorful history of the City of Biloxi.”
