As the only three-star recruit or above in the state of Mississippi according to ESPN, Auburn signee Sania Wells is always worth the price of admission.

Tonight, East Central was the hottest ticket in town, hosting future division I signee Robyn Lee of Moss Point in a winner-take-all regular season district finale.

The Lady Hornets capture the region 8 district crown with the 43-33 victory.

Wells said, “I mean it means a lot. We’ve been working for it for like four years now and to finally have it right now, it’s sweet. It’s senior year.”

East Central Head Girls Basketball Coach Wes Brewer said, “Well I’ll tell you, we always have a saying that big time players make big time plays in big time games, and I challenged her. And I said you’re the best player in the state, you’re going to have to put on a show. And she went out there and took control of the game. So her and her teammates and let me tell you we always talk about how good the No. 2 is, but her teammates battled tonight and put us in a position. So hats off to everybody that’s on our team.”

The Lady Hornets wrap up their regular season against West Harrison on Tuesday for Senior Night.
